Psychologists have extensive training in understanding human behaviour, motivation, learning and change. While psychological treatment is often focused on healing or addressing maladaptive coping strategies, coaching tends to be more focused on identifying desires, setting goals, optimising performance, motivational strategies, and self-development. If there is notable anxiety or depression, or other mental health concerns, then accessing psychological treatment would be more appropriate.
